Our promise
Dilly Classrooms is built for kids ages 2-12. We never show ads, never sell personal information, and never use dark patterns. Learning progress stays between your family and your child's teacher (if you join a class).
Who can use Dilly
Children under 13 may only use Dilly Classrooms through a parent or legal guardian account. Parents create kid profiles, manage subscriptions, and can delete data at any time. Teachers manage classroom rosters but cannot create child accounts on a parent's behalf.
What we collect
- Parent account: name, email, password (stored hashed), subscription status.
- Child profile: first name (or nickname), emoji avatar icon, lesson stars and completion progress.
- Teacher account: name, email, class names, join codes, lesson assignments.
- Classroom link:when a parent joins a class, the teacher sees the child's display name, avatar, and lesson progress for assigned lessons.
We do notcollect a child's full birth date, home address, photos, precise location, or social media profiles.
What we don't do
- No advertising or ad tracking
- No selling or renting personal information
- No behavioral profiling for marketing
- No third-party analytics pixels on kid-facing screens
How lessons work
Lessons run in your browser. Dilly's voice uses your device's built-in text- to-speech - audio never leaves your device. Lesson interactions (taps, answers, stars) are saved locally and synced to your account when a kid profile is active.
Third-party services
We use Stripe to process Family plan payments. Stripe receives your email and payment details directly - we never store card numbers. See Stripe's privacy policy.
Parental rights (COPPA)
As a parent or guardian, you can:
- Review your child's profile and lesson progress in the Family dashboard
- Delete a kid profile (and its progress) at any time
- Delete your entire account by emailing us
- Revoke consent and stop further collection
We obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting a child's information. Consent is recorded when you create a parent account and check the consent box.
Data retention
We keep account data while your account is active. If you delete a kid profile or close your account, we remove associated data within 30 days, except where law requires longer retention (e.g. billing records).
